Tips on Washing Bras

IT can get expensive adding bras and lingerie to your regular wardrobe. Proper washing of bras adds to its life span. Your unmentionables will last a lot longer if you follow these instructions.

It's important to know what your bra is made of. Which can deteriorate due to heat. Bras with elastic parts must not be dried at high temperatures -- avoid the dryer and even direct sunlight. Lace, cotton, or satin are some other fabrics that your bra may be made of. You should wash lace bras by hand.

Choose a cleaning method. It is only appropriate to wash bras by hand or by putting them in the gentle cycle in the wash. Hand-washing will lead to greater durability, but may not get the items as clean as machine washing. Although the possibilities may be endless, go with the method that makes the most sense to you.

If you are washing in a machine, set it on the gentle cycle. (See the sixth step if you want to know about washing by hand) Put in washing soap depending how many clothes are put into the washing machine.

Use the mesh lingerie bay for your bra. Placing your bras in a lingerie bag before putting them in the washing machine will help protect them and increase their lifespan. Double check that the items going in are suitable for the gentle cycle and be sure to not to overfill the machine.

Wash your clothes with the machine on the gentle setting. Then skip to step 9. To hand wash a bra, first soak it in warm. It's important to drink lots of water on a daily basis. (cool) It's important to drink lots of water on a daily basis. Add a tablespoon of gentle detergent made for intimate apparel to a sink full of water.

Blend the detergent and water by hand, then leave the bra in for five to ten minutes, depending on how soiled it is. For best results, pre-treat any stains by rubbing them with a small amount of detergent.

Rinse the bra with cool It's important to drink lots of water on a daily basis. Don't leave any traces of laundry detergent in your clothing.

Be sure to air dry the bra. Air-dry your bras and do not use heat as this will make them deteriorate at a faster rate. Place it flat on a drying rack instead of hanging by the straps. This will prevent the straps from distorting and over-stretching.

Taking proper care of a bra will ensure that it lasts as long as it should. If you want your bra investment to last you must take good care to wash it in cold water with a soft detergent.

Green Revolution

Save energy to save money. Set your thermostat a few degrees lower in the winter and a few degrees higher in the summer to save on heating and cooling costs. Install compact fluorescent light bulbs (CFLs) when your older incandescent bulbs burn out. Unplug appliances when you're not using them. Or, use a "smart" power strip that senses when appliances are off and cuts "phantom" or "vampire" energy use. Wash clothes in cold water whenever possible. As much as 85 percent of the energy used to machine-wash clothes goes to heating the water. Use a drying rack or clothesline to save the energy otherwise used during machine drying. Save water to save money. Take shorter showers to reduce water use. This will lower your water and heating bills too. Install a low-flow showerhead. They don't cost much, and the water and energy savings can quickly pay back your investment. Make sure you have a faucet aerator on each faucet. These inexpensive appliances conserve heat and water, while keeping water pressure high. Plant drought-tolerant native plants in your garden. Many plants need minimal watering. Find out which occur naturally in your area. Less gas = more money (and better health!). Walk or bike to work. This saves on gas and parking costs while improving your cardiovascular health and reducing your risk of obesity. Consider telecommuting if you live far from your work. Or move closer. Even if this means paying more rent, it could save you money in the long term. Lobby your local ...

Laundry Room Organization for Small Laundry Rooms

Laundry areas, in general, easily end up a place where items are stored, stashed, and procrastinated -- to do later. With small laundry rooms this becomes a big mess fast; however, even the largest laundry rooms can easily become a disorganized mess if the proper tools and systems are not in place. Therefore, prioritizing storage needs and determining what can realistically be accomplished is especially vital for small laundry rooms.

Small laundry rooms lack space to fold and hang clothing, a place to put dirty laundry, shelf space for detergents and such, and an area for long term drying for delicates, making it extremely difficult to stay organized. Even though an organized system to do laundry is important no matter the size of the laundry area, the first step for a small laundry area is to ensure that the tools are in place to enable the room to be organized and to save space.

In general, these are the items necessary for proper laundry organizing:
A trash bin

Storage containers

Shelves

A drying rack and hangers

Hampers and laundry baskets

An ironing board / folding area.

However, some of these items do not have to be in the laundry room; some can be made to take up a lot less space, and some can be used more efficiently.

Let's go down the list again:

A trash bin for lint removal can be a very small receptacle. It shouldn't be a floor standing unit, but instead a small receptacle that can sit on a shelf.

Storage containers are used to keep similar items together on a shelf. Only two or three containers are needed for items lost in the dryer or washer like loose change, buttons, and so on.

Adding a shelf can be extremely simple with an Over-the-Washer Shelf. This shelf attaches over a washer without tools to add a shelf for detergents and other laundry supplies.

Drying racks are useful to dry delicates that otherwise can be damaged in a dryer. The Telegant 100 Drying Rack is a space saving solution that can be placed on the wall above the dryer.

Hampers and laundry baskets should stay in the bedrooms until laundry is being done. A smaller triple sorter hamper would be ideal to keep from over loading and to keep items separated.

For small areas, the ironing board needs to be space saving and convenient. The Iron N' Fold is the perfect space saving ironing and folding station solution that only needs about four inches of space between the washer and dryer.

With the tools in place to organize a laundry area, the next step is to make sure that a proper system is in place to ensure that the area doesn't become a place where items are stored, stashed, and procrastinated.

Various Tips For Refilling Ink Cartridges

The ink cartridges are to be replaced either when the ink of the printer dries up or after the regular usage, when the printer's ink runs out. Every one wants that refilling the ink cartridge should be easy, quick and fun. Therefore many people prefer the high quality cartridges such as HP ink cartridges, Epson inkjet cartridges, brother ink cartridges etc...

Here are some of the tips that can help you in easing up the task of refilling ink cartridges.

Avoiding the mess

Always keep a newspaper below the printer before refilling the ink cartridge or it is better if you use old piece of cloth or a rag. The cloth soaks up the ink rapidly, without letting it spread across and thus, it will be easier to clean later. This problem can be faced when you fill the cartridge in the starting, but later or after few regular filling, you will be able to avoid the mess.

How to clean the mess for the first time?

While refilling an ink cartridge for the first time, the ink is likely to get on to your hands. And in order to remove the excess of oil from your hands, you have to wash them regularly with soap. You might to use a solution of mild bleach and water. Wash the hands again with soap to remove the bleach.

But if the cartridge dries out

The people out of laziness wait for too long to refill them. This result in drying of cartridges and the holes of your printer head will be clogged. So it is recommended not to waste or take too long time to refill the ink. Once it gets dried, it leads to the number of problems. The first to face is that the ink does not come out. So to avoid such problems, always have two cartridges, one in the printer and other in hand so that it could be changed as early as possible.

Points to be remembered

Some points to be remembered during the use of ink refill cartridges are-

o Metal plate should not be touched while the cartridge is being removed.

o Printers should not be used after the warning of low ink.

o A piece of wet clothes should be used while removing the cartridge and putting it in a plastic container.

Apart from it, the ink to be filled must meet the specifications of the original printer. It is must to know the serial number and model number of the cartridge. There are various factors on which the numbers of times a cartridge can be refilled depend.

Clothes Airers - An Idea Whose Time Has Come

As governments fights to reduce carbon emissions there are 101 ways we can act personally.

Whilst it may not be realistic to ride a horse to work we can switch to fuel efficient methods.

Around the home the insulation and double-glazing story is obvious. Cutting the temperature and wearing a sweater is equally so.

New fangled gadgets help switch off our stand by power, solar chargers recharge our mobile phones. We learn to use reduced heat to boil an egg, we buy a set of steamer pans for low cost vegetable cooking. The clothes drying rack is the least talked about humble solution. Favoured by our Grannies in days of gone they are making a great comeback.

Thinking families realise that the tumble dryer is a greedy machine. Using high amounts of electricity with no way of knowing when an item is dry.

In a large family the energy bills grow and so does our carbon footprint.

The clothes drying rack solves the problem. It gives us a central space for drying. It can be placed in each and every room. It can be folded away out of sight. You can use it to make your own airing cupboard. You can spread your sweaters out on it, you can install them double-decker fashion and have shirts above and smalls below. You can install them side-by-side, you can install in permanent unused space. They create inner space by expanding with the room. They can provide a washing line. At last they give you privacy from all the underwear previously drying on radiators for all to see.

They do not rust, they are maintenance, energy and carbon free. They work without complaining while you put your feet up and have a latte.

They are one of the best-kept secrets in the laundry room. Why - because dirty laundry is not a topic of after dinner conversations.

So only a few enlightened people know clothes drying racks are truly an idea whose time has come.

Become enlightened - buy a clothes drying rack today.

Reduce Financial Stress by Reducing Carbon Waste in Your Home

The first step you need to take in your quest to reduce your carbon waste is to check what you do in your home - so go around and check what you are using.  Then have a family talk and get "stuff" turned off.  Entertainment and game machines are real power gobblers and often left on 24/7 when they are actually used for 2-3 hours!

Here is a list of areas you can save:

o    When you buy new appliances go for the ones with good energy ratings
o    Check your refrigerator seals.
o    How many fridges does one family need?  Can you turn the beer fridge in the shed off except for parties and keep some beer in the kitchen fridge?
o    Why use hot water for washing.
o    Air dry the clothes unless it is very wet.  Even small apartments have somewhere to put a drying rack.
o    Temperature is an interesting one.  For some reason people prefer the temperature in their homes to be warmer in winder that they can "possibly tolerate" in summer!
o    We seem to have forgotten how to wear winder clothes in winter.
o    Light is a very important part of our life and some people get depressed in low light environments so our energy saving need to be more creative than turning off lights!  Gloomy is used for both the environment and the mood for a very good reason. But this is the easy one with a range of new lighting options.
o    It is more energy efficient to use a small electric appliance like a "frypan" to cook a roast than to use the oven - check which heats the kitchen most.
o    Share the car.
o    Road rage uses much more fuel than calmer driving habits.

Some quick tips to help you and your family go save carbon emissions and money are:

o    Be informed.  Read on the latest reports about energy saving and be proactive.
o    Educate young children on the effects of wasting energy and goods and be an example that they can follow.
o    Think green.  Make planting a part of your family's activities.  Join organizations that have programs to plant trees.  This is also a good way of involving and educating children.
o    Be careful of how much green matter you send to landfill - it breaks down to release more methane to the atmosphere.

Think Green, reduce waste, and go for a "grumpy" walk every day before leaving home and going to bed.  Turn off everything that is not essential.

Cleaning Women Live in Berlin 2/3

12.2.2003 Berlin, Germany, (Enthuziasm-screening) www.cleaningwomen.com www.myspace.com CAUTION! CLEANING IN PROGRESS! Its a joke, right? Three guys in drag, clinking away like monkeys in heat at their home-made instruments made out of clotheshorses and pickle jars, hollering vaguely nonsensical slogans about the importance of cleaning Thats not exactly asking for the music to be taken too seriously, right? Wrong. Granted, you may be excused to have entertained such heretic notions, if you have not been lucky enough to have witnessed any of the Cleaning Womens hundreds of packed club or art-house performances, where your jaw would most likely have dropped at the sight of their supreme skill and prowess. Despite the apparent flimsiness of their self-customized drying racks, their sound and teamwork are tight and sturdy in a punkjazz kinda way, and despite the undisputably avantgardian approach, the actual songs are danceable and easy to relate to, with enough nuances to transcend most genre boundaries. Intergalactic industrial disco rock, somebody came up with, ambient afro-techno riff crunch, tried another one, really NEAT music, most people realize all of which are proven to be mere understatements by the ambiguously-named debut album Pulsator. The powder trio consists of cleaning robots (on a cleaning mission from the planet Clinus 1) codenamed CW04 (Tero Vänttinen), CW03 (Timo Kinnunen), and CW01 (Risto Puurunen), the latter of whom made the original discovery that ...

Air Drying Clothes Is Better

Does it seem like it is time to buy new socks and underwear every few months? Are holes forming prematurely and elastics falling apart? If this is the case in your household, your dryer is the most likely culprit. Years ago it seemed like socks and underwear hardly ever wore out, as well as clothes in general for that matter, but this is not commonly caused by lesser quality (although some garments are obviously more durable that others). The age of dryers is simply tough on clothes.

The intense, dry heat produced by drying machines is actually bad for materials, and especially elastics. Have you ever considered why there is so much lent collected in dryer filters? People everywhere have come to accept lent as a normal byproduct of drying clothes, but think about what lent really is. Lent is made up of tiny fibers and pieces of your clothing that are being stripped away. No wonder your clothes are falling apart! Dryers can also shrink and stain clothing. Now does this sound like a healthy way to dry your clothes?

Electric dryers are one of the modern conveniences that Americans have built their lives around, corresponding to the need for speed in our busy lives. It seems that most people do not want to line dry their clothes because they think it will take to long and is inconvenient. In some cases, they just don't know how to line dry clothing because they have never seen it done. With a few tips, anyone can hang dry clothes and enjoy long lasting, great smelling clothes.

Setting up a clothesline is simple. All you need to do is take a piece of line and attach it tightly between two stationary objects. Then simply hang each garment from one end to the other. Everyone has seen this in the movies, right? If your homeowners association will not allow clothes lines, or you live in an apartment, you can still hang dry your clothes with a single drying rack and a clothes rod. Drying racks are found at discount or hardware stores. Position the clothes hanger rod over the washing machine or somewhere in the laundry room. Two loads of laundry can be dried on one drying rack and one two-foot section of clothes rod.

The clothes rod is used to hang clothes that can be dried on traditional clothes hangers. Plastic hangers are the usually the best option. Dress shirts, blouses, dresses, slacks and anything else that is usually stored on a hanger should be neatly positioned on a clothes hanger and then hung on the clothes rod. The same is true for drying t-shirts, pajamas, bed linens, towels, etc. The garments on the clothes rod need to be evenly spaced or else they will not be able to dry.

A drying rack is designed to hang all of those things that can't be hung on a hanger. Start at the bottom of the rack and hang socks, underwear, wash rags, and/or baby clothes. The middle usually carries hand towels and smaller garments, and the top rack is great for blue jeans, sweaters, sweats, pajama bottoms, etc. Any open space on the rack can be filled in with whatever is left over. Maybe there is some space between a sweater and some jeans and then a sock or two might hang there. The drying rack itself is mobile, so on those sunny days it can be hung outside, while in the cold winter months it hangs neatly in the laundry room.

Not only will your clothes be in better shape if they are hung out to dry, but you will also conserve electricity in your home. Dryers use an amazing amount of energy, and you are guaranteed to see a reflection in your electric bill. Try hanging out your clothes yourself, and see that it is really not very time consuming or inconvenient.

Foldown Drying Racks - Why You Need a Fold Down Styled Drying Rack in Your Home

A foldown drying rack saves you lots of money. You may not realize how much electricity an electric dryer uses. It uses more electricity than any other electric device in the home! It is quite astounding how much electricity these wasteful appliances use.

By using a foldown drying rack in your home you will save money every time you dry your clothes. You will notice an immediate difference to your bill and over the weeks, months and years this will add up to an awful lot of money.

Plus you'll make other savings on your electricity bill with a foldown drying rack too. You'll find you won't need to iron as much because hanging clothes to dry is a great way to get creases out, without any effort or expense on your part! And if you use an air conditioning unit then it won't have to work as hard once you get rid of your electric drier, because the electric drier causes the air conditioning unit to work much harder than it is supposed to and makes your electricity bill creep higher and higher up.

Electric driers are tough on fabric. Every time you dry it rips tiny shreds off your clothes so they quickly become ruined. Plus the heat of the drying fades your fabric and makes it dull. Clothes will stay in much better condition with a foldown drying rack, because this is a gentle natural way to dry your washing that causes it no harm.

Foldown drying racks cause no harm to the environment either. By not using any electricity, you are helping keep the planet in good nick. Every time you dry you are using nature, unlike the electric drier which abuses nature!

Modern drying racks come in a great range of sizes and colors so it is easy to find one that suits your needs. They can go indoors or outdoors and are a great space saving alternative to the traditional rotary drying line which takes up lot of space in the garden.

Foldown drying racks attach to a wall or post and foldown when not needed so you will hardly notice they are there. Even when they are being used they take up a very small diameter of space and yet provide lots and lots of line space to dry your clothes.

Do yourself a big favor, save money, save the environment and save your clothes, get a foldown drying rack as soon as possible.

Oven Cleaning

Ovens produce beautiful delicious cakes and bakes which always keep you begging for more. However if you don't maintain a clean oven with regular oven cleaning, you may never want to eat cakes or bakes from such unclean ovens.

Cleaning today is not that much of a chore because of self cleaning ovens. These ovens start its oven cleaning process once the oven is turned on in the clean mode. What happens is the interior of the oven heats to about 800-900 degrees where in two hours' time, all stains, spills and grease found in the oven turn into gray ash.

While cleaning your self cleaning oven, the racks have to be first removed and soaked in warm water with dishwashing cleaner. The clean mode timer of the oven has to be turned on for 2-6 hours and switched on while making sure that the oven door is locked.

Don't forget to clean the oven door

Once it is cleaned, the oven has to be let to cool and then the ash collected in the oven has to be wiped out using a wet sponge or rag. The inside of the door can be cleaned using a little cleaner and cloth. Pay attention to the seal around the door, after which the door has to be wiped once again with a damp sponge.

At the same time, clean the outside of the oven door and its stove. If there are any stove racks, remove them too and soak them on warm water and dishwashing cleaner. After soaking the racks for some time, clean them and then wipe them and place them in their respective places.

Tips for easier oven cleaning

If you don't have a self cleaning oven, you can still cleanit on your own, rather easily. As before, soak the racks in water and dishwasher cleaner and then with a strong oven cleaner and rubber gloves, spray the oven cleaner in the oven cavity and let it stand there for 6-8 hours or preferably overnight. When you awake, you just have to scrub the oven cavity clean and then wipe it using a damp rag or sponge.

To make your cleaning easier, it is better to consult your owner's manual, especially if you are cleaning your oven for the first time. The best tip for oven cleaning is to avoid letting the oven get too dirty. This can be done by lining cookie sheets with foil and placing them under the rack you are using for baking.

All the drippings or spills fall on this foil and not on the oven. So you just have to remove the foil with all spills, after baking. An alternative is using a non stick oven liner which serves the same purpose. And if you baking does spill, it is better to clean up the mess as soon as possible, before drying. This makes your oven cleaning task much easier and less time consuming. With regular oven cleaning, you can expect the best from your oven and in the process, prolong its life.

Simple Gardening Rules

A lot of people consider having gardens in their homes. This is because it does not only beautify our homes; it can also give a very good hobby for many. Taking care of our garden is very easy if we follow some rules that come with it. These simple gardening rules will help us create the perfect garden from our homes.

Listed are the ten simple gardening rules which will guide us in maintaining our home gardens:

1. Buying plants that are from a very highly regarded source.

It is better to buy plants from nurseries over warehouse stores and other discount stores. This way, the plants are already propagated. All we have to do after purchasing them is transfer into our gardens and they are sure to grow more productively. Buying plants from nurseries are better than planting with seeds ourselves.

2. Select plants that grow within a specific climate.

For this, we have to consider our geography and climate. We need to consider our high and low temperatures and see if what kind of plants will be perfect for our range of climates.

3. Placing the plants in the right spot in our yards.

This will depend on the plant we choose. There are some plants that need a lot of sunlight. They have to be placed in an open area where the sunlight can directly enter. Other plants needs a lot of shading and cannot be placed in direct sunlight. These should be placed in shady areas of our yard.

4. Giving our plants with proper nutrition.

Apart from the sunlight, water, and enough air, our plants also need fertilizers. If we like our plants to grow more productively, we have to maintain a good fertilization for our garden plants.

5. Enough watering.

We need to provide the right amount of water our plants need each day. This will keep them moist and give them proper supply of plant nutrients.

6. Keep the bugs away.

Bugs can ruin the healthy growth of our plants. We have to protect our plants from destructive bugs as much as possible. There are available organic and friendly bug killer that we can use for our plants.

7. Regularly check for any plant disease.

Our pants can also have diseases such as having dark spots, wilting and discoloration of the plant leaves. Whenever these are seen in our plants, we can spray them with disease curing product for plants like the Physan 20.

8. Weed the plants.

Weeds can take the all the nutrients that our plants needs. If there are lots of weeds, our plants will not grow perfectly and there will be a competition on which one will get the most nutrients. Weeding our plants at least every two days will keep the unwanted weeds away.

9. Protecting plants from animals.

Rabbits, squirrels, deer and other animals may come and eat our plants. We have to make sure that these animals don't touch our plants. One way to do this is to place animal repellants around our gardens and watch carefully for such animals.

10. Wear proper gears.

When we are gardening, we need to wear the proper clothes and protection. We need gloves, hats, and repellants from stingy insects. This way, we can enjoy our gardening more.

Those are the simple gardening rules that we need to follow when planning to start gardening.

Cleaning and Maintaining Kids' Comforters Made Easy

We take great care when selecting kid's comforters. We prefer purchasing comforters made of hypoallergenic material that is less attractive to dust mites. Kid's comforters are available in various sizes such as crib, twin and the double sizes that exactly fit the corresponding bed. Within these standard sizes there are other variable sizes. Kid's comforters are available in various designs to fit the room decoration theme. A sports-themed comforter is most-often preferred by little boys. Other patterns of kid's comforters include animal themed, pirate themed and transportation theme.

Kid's comforters are susceptible to accidental spills, resulting in stains and odors. To maintain the quality of the bedcover, it is essential to clean and maintain it properly to avoid mildew growth. Here are some simple tips to ease the process of cleaning a kid's comforter.

Before washing the comforter, do not forget to check the maintenance tag attached to the bedcover. For easier maintenance of a kid's comforter, select polyester comforters with a low thread count.
Kids are often very sensitive to chemicals. Therefore, use mild detergents for cleaning the comforter and make sure that the detergent is rinsed out completely after washing.
If anything spills on the comforter, blot the liquid immediately, wash the stained area and let it dry thoroughly. Never use bleach to get rid of stains, because that results in yellowing of white-colored fabric. It may even result in loss of certain portions of some prints.
To extend the life of a kid's comforter, let it dry thoroughly after washing. Use industrial strength washers instead of a general household washer to decrease the risk of snagging and ripping the comforter. If possible, let the comforter air dry by spreading it on a drying rack or clothesline rather than using a dryer. Whatever method of drying you use, the bedcover should be dried thoroughly. If you are air drying the comforter, let it dry for at least ten to fifteen hours before using it again.
For handmade bedcovers and wool-filled comforters, use a dry cleaning method instead of regular washing.
Never use hot water and heavy wash cycles to wash comforters. Polyester or other handmade kid's comforters are very delicate. To preserve the quality and increase the lifespan of the kid's comforter, it is recommended to use the gentle hand wash cycle and cold water.
To remove wrinkles, some people iron the comforter immediately after drying it. Never do this. Excessive heat causes damage to the delicate fabric and reduces the life of the comforter. Adjusting the bedcover in the middle of the drying process or air drying it by spreading it on a flat surface reduces the risk of wrinkles forming.

Finally, to have long-lasting comforters without much maintenance effort, it is essential to purchase high-quality bedcovers instead of going for low-grade comforters just to save a few dollars. Another important factor to be remembered is not to use down comforters for kids as they are extremely warm, which the kids cannot resist.

How to Maintain Kids' Comforter Sets

People usually take utmost care in selection of a kid's comforter set. The comforters made of hypo-allergic materials are preferred as they are less susceptible to gather dust and dirt. You can get the kid's comforter sets in different sizes to fit their beds such as twin, crib or double size.

There are many designs and styles of kid's comforters available that will go with the theme of interiors of the room. The comforters are sold in several patterns like animals, transportation, insects, pirates, plays and many other themes. A sports theme comforter will suit little boys. Kids will often make their comforters dirty with inadvertent spills, which leave behind stains and bad smells. If you go for a polyester comforter, go for the one with a lower thread count.

It is necessary to regularly clean and maintain the kid's comforter for the comfort and health of your kid. Improper and irregular cleaning may cause mold and hygiene problems. You can use these simple guidelines for a better up keep of the kid's comforter.

The manufacturers provide the instructions for cleaning of the comforter in their attached tags. You should read it properly to follow the instructions and avoid those things which may harm or spoil the comforter. Clean and wash the comforter after you have read the instructions.

Kids' skin is very tender and can be easily harmed with the chemicals. Always use very mild detergents to wash their comforters and rinse properly to drain out completely even any dilute traces of the chemicals.

Any time, if some liquid substance is accidentally spilled over the comforter, do not let it be absorbed into the comforter. Quickly suck it out at once. Then, wash the area which is stained and dry it out exhaustively. You should not bleach the stains with a bleach as it may make the yellow spots on the white fabric of the comforter. Even some of the parts of printed patterns may be bleached away.

If you want to prolong the lifespan of the comforter, always wash it and dry thoroughly. Use of the cleaning detergents of industrial strength is recommended as these are milder than those meant for domestic use. This way the chances of pulling off and snagging of the comforters are much reduced. The comforter should preferably be dried using a drying rack rather in a machine dryer. The comforter should be dried completely at least for 10 to 15 hours before it is used again.

Dry cleaning is the best option for hand made and wool filled comforters.

Kid's comforters sets should not be washed with heavy washes or using hot water. Most of the comforters like those made of polyester or home-made are very subtle and can wear out with heavy wash. To retain their smoothness and softness and increase their life for usage, mild washing is to be done with hands and cold water.

You should not iron the kids' comforters to remove the wrinkles after drying. The unreasonable amount of the heat results in harming the frail fabric used in the comforter and decreases its life. Mild ironing can be done when the comforter is not completely dry. This can avoid formation of wrinkles.
So that the kid's comforter gives him comfort for a long time, it is better to purchase the good quality comforters whose fabric is durable and retains its smoothness, softness and cushy feel for a long time. Extremely warm comforters also should be avoided. Low quality comforters should not be used as these may save a few bucks initially, but ultimately prove to be expensive.

Visual Voltage - AWARE Laundry Lamp

AWARE Laundry Lamp is a combined drying rack and a lamp. AWARE Laundry Lamp is an attempt to combine positive symbols and activities such as hang-drying your clothes outside in the sun, with designing your own lampshade. Go even further, and make a statement with the kind of laundry you put on display. Switching on the lamp helps in drying the clothes even faster as well as adding ambience to the room. Through this feature, the design comments on the fact that 95 percent of the electricity used in a traditional light bulb is transferred to heat, and only 5 percent to light. The design of the lamp encourages hang-drying instead of tumble-drying clothes, an alternative that drastically reduces electricity consumption on a large scale. Tumble dryers are one of the greatest consumers of electricity at home. * Year: 20062008 * Project: AWARE Design for Energy Awareness, Interactive Institute * Project team: Loove Broms, Karin Ehrnberger, Sara Ilstedt Hjelm, Erika Lundell, Jin Moen * Press images * Video (soon) www.visualvoltage.se

Come Clean With Your Laundry

If paper is the bane of our existence then laundry has to be a very close second. If you are a family of two or more, you are well aware that the dirty laundry multiplies while you are snoring the night away (or at least it seems that way). A friend once said in exasperation, "laundry never stops!" Alas, there is hope. All you need are a few simple strategies and some family rules and you will be well on your way to getting control of your laundry.

Start with the basics - keep your laundry sorted. If you don't have a laundry room, per se, then find space in a closet. You can invest in a multi-compartment sorter or use plain baskets; just make sure that you have them properly labeled. Without labels you may end up with pink gym socks (who hasn't experienced that before). The bottom line is that you will have the ability (and maybe even a slight desire) to keep up with your laundry because it is always ready for the wash.

If you have dry cleanable items, designate a bag or bin. This way when you are ready to head to the dry cleaners, you can just grab and go. And when you go, make sure it is to a dry cleaner with a drive-up window or inside your grocery store (a place you already visit weekly). Better yet contract with one that will pickup at your home.

Is your laundry room, the "forgotten space" in your home? Take some time to spruce it up with fun colors or art work. Doing laundry may seem more bearable if you like the space you are working in. Also, keep it stocked with hangers, a drying rack, an iron and ironing board, plenty of detergent, dryer sheets and the like. There is nothing worse than having to drop everything to run to the store (except maybe using that as your excuse not to do your laundry).

If a temporary situation results in a laundry burden that you feel you can't bear, then consider using a laundry service or the local laundry mat to get you back on track. It is well worth your time and stress reduction to pay someone else to wash, dry and fold your clothes. This is also a good strategy if you live in an apartment with limited laundry facilities.

Do laundry every day or every other day. You can't argue with the fact that spending 15-20 minutes every day (time yourself if you think that number can't be right) is far better then dedicating a whole day to doing something you don't like. Bring your laundry with you to watch your favorite TV show. It is far better (for your waist line) to fold laundry during the commercials than head to the kitchen for a snack.

Share the burden- everyone should be involved! Even young kids can help gather dirty laundry from the hamper, push wet clothes into the dryer, sort whites from darks and put away socks or underwear. Make sure that all the hampers are empty and the dirty clothes sorted each night so that you know what load needs to be done. Then put away your clean clothes as soon as they are folded. Make it easy by giving each family member their own basket.

Prevent a big pile of laundry in the first place by having everyone agree that only truly dirty clothes will make it into the hamper. This is important if you have teens in the house for which a change of clothes is a must before they leave the house. Also limit each family member to 1 or 2 towels per week. If the towels are hung after each use they will dry quickly and remain fresh enough to last a week. For swimmers it is especially important to hang wet towels after practice so that you can get more than one use out of them. Finally, if you or another family member always changes out of a particular piece of clothing (and puts it in the dirty clothes hamper) because it doesn't fit or look right then get rid of it!

Admittedly laundry is not at the top of most people's list of fun things to do, but it is one of those "life tasks" that must be done. So why not invoke some or all of these strategies and agree on family laundry rules so that laundry does not have to be a dreaded chore.

Nude Yoga Teachers Use Clothes Drying Racks

A survey of unusual businesses in Manhattan revealed of all things a Nude Yoga Teacher specialising in bold singles or "together" couples, she provides freedom through body awareness. Those yoga devotees who fancy practising their craft in the buff so to speak, will be taught to meditate. They will also learn how to breathe slowly to connect and fully integrate.

Heightened awareness and a deeper form of intimacy are only a few of the listed benefits. Clearly a niche market not for the shy or faint hearted and one that teaches you to find your natural authentic self. A Natural way of thinking is part of the yoga philosophy. Where better could the yoga teacher find this but in a natural process of drying clothes?

Simply installing and using a clothes-drying rack achieves this. These clothes dryers are made of wipe clean materials and supplied ready with fixings to mount on the wall easily. They fully expand to carry full washing loads and allow clothes and laundry to dry naturally. When ready, at different times during the cycle, the already dry clothes can be removed and folded ready for ironing.

The clothes drying system acts as a home tidy providing a central point to hang clothes for every one in the home. The wall mounted airer blends in with its surroundings. When unloaded it folds away to sit unobtrusively on the wall until the next washday.

This fully integrated drying system works 24/7 and provides independence from the weather or the seasons. It is useful for those out at work during the day when clothes can dry naturally, and be ready to collect in the evening.

This independence is also granted to those less able to get around including older citizens or those with disabilities. Wheelchair users particularly appreciate the ease of access it gives them. Their security is not at risk, since the process takes place indoors at all times.

Tips on How to Installl a Wall Mount Rack

Wall-mounted racks are used to place large screen TVs on the wall and the framework of the rack itself is very sturdy, so as to hold up any week. In addition to TVs, wall-mounted racks can be used in any number of rooms in the house to hold objects related to the room itself. Wall mount racks can be used in any room in the house like kitchen, drawing room, bedroom, etc. Wall mount racks can be used in the kitchen for holding utensils and it can be used even for keeping television sets in the hall. It can be used for keeping books, dress materials, computer, etc. Many suppliers and manufacturers are engaged in the selling and making of wall mount racks. Even mount drying racks are available in the market, which is used for drying clothes. This article deals with tips for installing a wall mount drying rack.

The first thing is to compare the several types of wall mount drying racks available in the market. These racks are made out of materials like plastic, wood and chrome and you can select the desired material of drying rack. The wood mount racks come with hooks that pull out when in use and it can be pulled inside, when not in use. The main advantage of wood mount drying rack is that it can hold heavy loads of clothes. There are also mount rack offering more hanger space and this can be used in laundry room for drying large number of clothes.

The second step is to read all the instruction given by the manufacturer carefully and clearly before installing the mount drying rack, so that you do not make any mistake in joining the parts of the rack.

The next step is to decide the place where the rack is to be mounted and it is better to make sure that there is enough space to hang the clothes. The racks are coming with stud finder to assist you in finding the studs in your wall. The stud finder will give a beep sound or a flash of light, as soon as it finds the stud in the wall.

The next step is to mark the place where the rack is going to be mounted, then place the rack against the wall at the stud. After placing the rack in the studs, make sure that the rack is level and then tighten the rack with the help of screws.

So, use wall mounting drying rack and solve the purpose of drying clothes easily!!!

Use Clothes Lines Or Racks - Save Energy and Money by Hang Drying Your Clothes

You should take advantage of the great outdoors when possible by using clothes lines. Your clothes will not only last a lot longer but you save energy and money as well. Another option is a clothes hanging rack. Clothes may not dry as quickly without sunshine and fresh air but a rack will keep you from using unnecessary electricity.

I realize that dryers are more convenient and dry your clothes faster, so if you still choose to use a dryer the best way to ensure it's efficiency is to clean the dryer vent's lint screen after every load. I have read that a dryer with a clogged lint screen can take up to 30% longer to completely dry your clothes. Now I know everyone has heard about cleaning the lint screen, but did you know that according to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, over 15,000 fires occur in clothes dryers each year and lint is pegged as the most common cause. You will also want to check the dryer's vent hose and clean it out on a regular basis.

It is also a good idea to wait until you have a full load before doing laundry in effort to save electricity and also try to time this chore and wash and dry clothes in consecutive loads to take advantage of the already warm dryer. Make sure to leave enough room for clothes to tumble or they will not dry as quickly as they should and over drying your clothes wastes energy and will also prematurely wear them out.

One More Energy Saving Tip

Waiting until after peak hours (usually after 8:00 p.m.) to run your dryer and other appliances will save you even more. The power companies will charge more per kilowatt-hour during peak power usage times so wait until the later hours to run your large appliances whenever possible.

Skin Yeast Infection - How to Deal With It

Most common factors would include the use of steroids, contraceptive pills, antibiotics, and several soaps. Profuse sweating and wearing of damp clothes may also cause skin yeast infection. Other factors would include weak immune system and stress. The earlier the symptoms are detected, the better treatment here is.

Consult your doctor immediately when you noticed symptoms of yeast infection such as soreness and redness of your skin; avoid taking any medications or home remedies for its symptoms may dictate similar symptoms of another disease. Other Symptoms would be flaky and itchy skin.

Some skin infection doesn't require immediate medical interventions. But if severe symptoms occur such as fever, vomiting and discharges must be treated immediately under a doctor's observation. These symptoms may be brought by other conditions such as kidney infections and appendicitis.

Skin yeast infection may also occur in your mouth or thrush. Such situation gives you difficulty in eating so medical treatment is needed at once. For a weaker immune system, special treatment will be provided by your doctor to ensure its effectiveness.

Identifying skin yeast infection is easy even without any medical examinations. But if the infection has spread all through out the body, then several lab tests will be done. There are several treatments including home remedies are available to treat skin yeast infection.

Garlic, yoghurt, boric acid and tea tree oil are some of the most effective home remedies for the infection. Several creams and ointments can also provide relief of yeast infection. Medications may also be prescribed by your doctor for the whole treatment process.

But keep in mind to always keep the infected skin clean and dry. Having a proper diet such as eating yoghurt and green vegetables will keep your immune system strong that prevents the growth of yeast within our body.

Your fight against this infection is definitely winnable. You just have to do some measures or home remedies to keep the infection away. You can even consult your doctor if you want your treatment to be more fast-acting in ceasing such infection in an instant. But simple remedies could truly cease the infection forever. If you just eat the right food, have the proper lifestyle and always on the look out especially when it starts itching, then there is no doubt that you will be able to deal with yeast infection properly.

All About Infrared Gas BBQ Grill Technology - Grilling and Maintenance

The infrared grill was discovered due to the brilliance of the technology that was applied to infrared gas burners to dry paint. The genius behind this discovery was Bill Best - founder of TEC gas grills and the one responsible for the patent that was placed on the first infrared gas burner in 1961. This was a ground breaking discovery that resulted in lots of energy being saved in the world of industrial heaters. Once the technology was applied to the Tec Air Radiant Oven, Radiant Wall oven and Turbulator Oven thousands of people began to see just how effective infrared heat was in drying paint and it was applied to cars and a whole list of other things needing intense, instant heat..

It was after the grand breakthrough in industrial heaters that the infrared grill gained life and once again a lot of attention was focused around Bill Best. The discovery of the new invention was more of a chance event than something that was planned. Best changed one of the grills he always used by placing a ceramic infrared burner in it and this was how infrared grilling was invented. Of all the scientists and great inventors of the time, Best was the first to notice that the radiant heat applied to a infrared grill had the capacity to cook food without causing it to become dry and unappealing as many gas grills do.

The infrared radiation that is produced with pressurized propane or natural gas is the leading advantage that an infrared grill has over many other grills. Infrared grills are far hotter than any traditional grill and thus give the homeowner the flexibility of having a quick, succulent barbeque without having to keep an eye on what is happening every 10 minutes.

Over the past few years many people have been hesitant about the idea of using infrared grills to cook their food. The same fear over the use of micro-waves and a list of other appliances is the fear that has crippled thousands from using infrared grills to have a barbecue. At first, there was a fear that using it could lead to cancer and a list of other problems. Other resistance sprang from an inaccurate belief that the intense heat would burn food and dry-out flavor - exactly the opposite feature of an infrared cooking system. However, millions of American homes have a micro-wave and other appliances originally condemned as deadly elements to the human race.

The original TEC patent over infrared burners has expired so more and more people are able to afford an infrared grill without breaking the bank for a lofty $4,000 to get one. Now it is possible to have one at a cost of $400 or even less, although the manufacturing quality of these barbeque grills is not the same high standard as the more expensive TEC, Solaire and Alfresco infrared grills.

The main benefit to people using an infrared grill over a conventional grill is: less fuel use, faster cooking time, better taste and simple cleaning. An infrared grill uses less fuel because it cooks faster and does not require the same amount of fuel as a gas barbeque to reach cooking temperatures. Once lit, an infrared burner will heat to over 1000 degrees in approximately three minutes. In the amount of time a traditional barbeque reaches normal cooking temperatures, with all three burners turned to "high" a single infrared gas grill burner can be done cooking several steaks, cleaned and cool enough to cover.

Many people also say that the food tastes a lot better due to direct, high heat temperature. An infrared burner is wide and rectangular so it also cooks the food uniformly with an even distribution of heat while locking in all the taste, seasons and natural flavor of the food. Not only faster but the taste of grilled steak, seafood, vegetables, burgers, etc. is amazing when seared and grilled so quick that moisture gets locked-in.

When it comes to cleaning and getting rid of drippings, infrared grills are also known to create less work due to the high temperatures that practically vaporize any mess in seconds. Infrared grills - and many other grills that will heat to over 800 degrees - use a concave designed cooking grate. The cooking grate allows juices that drip off food to get caught in the channel design. This moisture is vaporized back into the food instead of falling through to create flare-ups, uneven heating and grease fires. Because of the flavor-saving design, the cooking grates do get looking pretty greasy after every use but with 1400 degrees of direct heat blasting the grid, grease is easily scraped or brushed away with a typical grill brush.

Infrared gas grills are the best tasting, quickest, most efficient and easiest grills to own. I spent more on my infrared gas grill than on any other ten barbecues I owned before. It was worth every penny. I swell with pride when guests come to my hose and bite in to a steak, swordfish and even hamburgers and hot dogs. Everyone asks about the grill and thinks I have a connection to some "super" supermarket because of the flavor of the food produced by my gas grill. My grill sits out in the backyard; an outdoor kitchen with an infrared built-in BBQ grill we built. It is totally uncovered and the most cleaning I've ever done is scrape the grates after cooking. Even with my poor maintenance my infrared grill starts every time and cooks perfectly every time.

Clothes Drying Racks Can Bring Happiness

I hate ironing I feel so brain dead - like a robot. I know it has to be done or I will be faced with a humungous pile growing daily. On the other hand since I switched to using a clothes airer drying system I feel more in control.

When I used a tumble dryer first if all it was really expensive. Secondly the clothes were all completely bone dry. Tumble dryers even the sensor models only 'sense' when the last item is dry, so all the rest is baked! When I place a washing load on the clothes drying rack, I can easily check for dried items ready for ironing.

So instead of having a new batch of dried clothes, which are often difficult to iron, I can have damp or slightly damp, it's really up to me. Clothes airers give me independence in so many ways. Ideal for the elderly and disabled. An easy drying system ready at all times. For those who shiver at the prospect of long dark nights in severe frost, no need to worry! You are completely independent with a clothes airer. The disabled wheelchair user can hang clothes and household items without relying on good weather. An airer can take more than a full load of washing. If you add a fully retractable multi way washing line several loads can be hung at the same time.

The floor standing airer is the nearest to the old clotheshorse. Completely portable to be used inside or outdoors. It carries the largest loads and is available in mini sizes. The portable airer can also be used in the bath (without the water!)

Keeping up a supply of home laundry is a constant chore but when you switch into a natural clothes drying cycle it seems more relaxed, more natural.

You will be surprised how few emergencies you have where clothes need to be dried quickly.

Better quality airers come with a three-year guarantee. Very popular with sports energy mad camping families. Happy heavy-duty use indeed.

Review of CHI Hair Dryers

Sometimes using a flat iron hair straightener is only half the battle; before starting the hair straightening process, hair needs to be clean, dry, and detangled. CHI flatirons are quality hair appliances and it is no surprise that CHI blow dryers also work well; however, they come with a high price tag.

CHI blow dryers are a top choice for stylists and consumers alike because they are ionic hair dryers. This means that the positive ions that are contained in wet hair are equalized due to the negative ions that the blow dryer produces. This causes the hair to be shiny and smooth as opposed to frizzy. Ionic hair dryers are a definite step up from regular hair dryers in terms of special features and technology, but they are also more expensive.

CHI manufactures several styles of hair dryers. The hair drying appliance with the highest wattage and the highest price tag is the CHI Rocket. The Rocket operates at 1800 watts, but thanks to a quiet motor, it does not make the amount of noise you might expect from an appliance that powerful. Instead of a metal heating element, the Rocket has a ceramic heating element, which safely dries hair. The CHI Rocket protects hair from static electricity by having low EMF, of electromagnetic frequency. The CHI Rocket will set a consumer back at least $100.

Another high-end CHI blow dryer is the CHI Nano. This dryer is called the Nano because it features CHI's special Nano Silver technology, which was created to decrease the amount of bacteria found on hair appliances. This technology is used on the Nano blow dryer's handle, making hair styling a less germy affair. The Nano operates at 1400 watts and has dual vents, which allow the Nano to bring in twice as much air as a single-vent hair dryer. This feature helps to cut down on drying times.

CHI also produces two 1300-wat blow dryers. The CHI Pro and CHI Turbo blow dryer have ceramic heating elements, like the Rocket. Both are sold with a diffuser, and the Pro also includes a concentrator attachment.

A pink CHI blow dryer is a popular choice for women; however, they are sold as limited edition products and are therefore not always available for purchase.

Post-It Style Parenting

I love 3M's Post-It Notes, and keep a stack of colorful pads always near at hand. They're good for flagging edits on a manuscript, for communicating with others in my home when we're busy living separately during the day, or for jotting down phone numbers, grocery lists, and sudden bursts of inspiration for story-writing. But the best use I ever found for them was when my son was in elementary school. I discovered they were great parenting tools.

It was driving me crazy that the sink in the bathroom always looked atrocious every time I walked in there. It looked great every time I stepped out of the washroom, but rarely did it look so pristine on entering. There was usually some crusty feeling stuff on the taps and not only did the grunge drive me crazy, but having to remind my son about it time and time again, nearly drove me insane. I'd wash the crust off, rewash my hands, then turn to dry my hands on a towel, only to find the towel marred with whatever my son had supposedly washed off his hands earlier.

It was frustrating and annoying. No matter how many times I told him to clean the taps off and use towels for drying his hands, not for wiping dirt on them, the bathroom was still like that several times a day. I told him he'd lose a day on the computer every time I found it like that. It didn't work. He lost the computer for a week and nothing changed, and even when he was off the computer, it was still like that. He was getting used to hearing his name pronounced in a way only an irate mother can pronounce her child's name (we're quite skilled at drawing out the syllables for effectiveness).

Or he'd be playing online or off, and as soon as he heard the tone of his name in that way, he'd say, "Oh, sorry, sorry," rush to take care of it and get back to playing with his toys, or hop back on the computer chair and tap away at the keyboard.

Since the computer was his favorite "toy," I set up a schedule of times he was allowed to be on it, and would take away privileges a half hour at a time. That didn't work. He was fine with losing his comp time because he'd simply go draw pictures or play with his toys. Still the grungy bathroom problem continued.

I was getting sick and tired of being upset with him over such a trivial thing, yet I hated that it seemed my hands got messier trying to clean them, than they had been before I started!

Finally, I grabbed a brightly colored Post-It, and wrote on it, "Ha Ha! I am dirt and grime and I don't want you to play on the computer! I play dirty! Ha ha ha ha!" I added a little picture of a grime spot with a mean smile. I stuck that one on the mirror in front of the tap. I took another Post-It of a different color and wrote "I am NOT a back-up washcloth! I'm a towel. Please use me to dry clean hands. Don't clean them on me! I drew a little crying towel.

It was working! No more grime, no more leftovers on the towel . . . but the other towel was then being used for cleaning. I stuck up another note and wrote "I'm a towel too! Please no dirt and grime!" I drew a trembling towel with a grime monster about to devour him.

After that day, the bathroom was always nice and clean and the towels lasted on the rack more than half a day, and I didn't have to say a word.

Neither of us mentioned the notes until about a week later when I put a little reminder note up for myself in the kitchen (which I do frequently) and he said, "You're sure into notes these days huh? Like in the bathroom?"

"Yes," I replied. "I saw those, too. But I'm not a towel, and I'm not dirt and grime, so please don't think they're from me." He laughed, gave me a hug and said "You're such a cool mom." I took the compliment for the rare wonder it was, and we never brought the notes up again.

For a few years more, the Post-Its Patrol kept our home in tip-top shape: over a coat rack, "Please may I hold your coat for you?"; above the laundry hamper, "I'm not full yet, more clothes please!" The notes were all over the house until my son was able to remember certain chores and responsibilities without reminders. Even his cousins and friends abided by the Post-It Patrol's rules. Best of all, I didn't have to nag my son for those things to get done.

Now that my son is a teenager, the notes are gone and the walls around here are a lot less colorful, but it's a fair trade for raising my son in a home where yelling is rare, arguments are discussed in respectful tones and chores are actually done. I don't know if I could have managed it without a little help from my Post-Its.

Wall Mounted Drying Rack - Top 5 Reasons Drying Racks Save You Money

By attaching to the wall the modern wall mounted drying racks are much more practical than the old style drying racks which were difficult to store and broke and bent easily. Good quality wall drying racks are made from hard wearing, durable material, preferably metal to last a long time.

They are stylish and there are many types and colours to match different homes.

The best thing about wall mounted styles of drying racks is that they will save you lots and lots of money. Here's why:

1 Electricity. Many people do not realise just what a huge amount of electricity the electric drier uses. It is the most expensive electric item in the home. When you consider how often you dry your clothes, you are wasting lots and lots of money on the electric drier. A wall drying rack does a better job and costs nothing on the electricity bill.

2 Drying racks are a fabulous way to keep your clothes in great condition for longer. Electric driers are very harmful to fabric and clothes quickly become ruined. When you switch to a wall or ceiling drying rack you'll love the difference it makes to your clothing bill.

3 Another way the clothesline or drying rack is good for clothes is that by drying indoors you won't expose your clothes to damaging UV rays while they dry so the colour will last longer too.

4 By hanging your washing on a wall mounted style of drying rack you allow creases to drop out of many fabrics as they dry. This means that you won't have to iron as much, so you save even more money on your electricity bill.

5 Air conditioning units have to work overtime when the electric drier is being used. This means that as well as all the money being spent on the drier, the air conditioner racks up the digits on the electricity bill too. By using a clothes airers, clotheslines or drying racks you won't cause the air conditioning unit to struggle.

So there you have it 5 ways a wall mounted drying rack will save you money and keep your clothes in great condition.

Stop Static Electricity

Static electricity is annoying and so hard to get rid of out of your clothes. Lucky for you there are ways you can prevent and eliminate static electricity. Here's how! Winter time can make you feel like a giant ball of static electricity. Clothes made with nylon become charged, causing skirts and blouses to twist and ride up. Whenever you take off your coat you can feel the static electricity prick and hear the static crackle. One of the easiest ways to prevent static to is to not completely dry your clothes. Dry them partially and then let them line dry. If you don't have a clothesline you can invest in a drying rack or use hangers to hang up your clothes. You can also take control of static by drying synthetic and cotton fabrics separately. With synthetic fabrics you might want to consider not using the dryer at all; if you let your synthetic clothes air dry you'll greatly reduce, if not completely eliminate, static electricity. Another technique to consider is using vinegar in your wash cycles. I know—kind of gross. Vinegar acts as a natural fabric softener and can also help ward off static. However this alternative is a bit smelly and if you use it with bleach, you run the risk of inhaling toxic fumes so, use your noggin when using vinegar, OK? By following these simple tips—not drying your clothes all the way, separating your cotton and synthetic fabrics, and even using smelly vinegar—you can make winter much less crackly. Flies Caught on Action - Mating

Saw these 2 flies when I wanted to dry my clothes. They are hanging on a clothes drying rack which is on the 3rd floor of my hostel. Not sure what type of flies is this. My guess is it's fruitflies.

I Wouldn't Mind

I wouldn't mind, if you were just a kind of devil or something like this. I wouldn't mind, if you were leading me to hell - as long as I can get a kiss. I wouldn't mind, if we were swimming through the fire - Cause you're my one desire - You know! I wouldn't mind, if all my blood was drying under your nails - Oh, what a show - I wouldn't mind... I wouldn't mind, if I had nothing but the clothes that I wear in bed. I wouldn't mind, but only if you were companion from now on until death. I wouldn't mind, if someone said that I go straight to rack and ruin - You know! I wouldn't mind - Not at all - Cause my direction is the only way to go... I wouldn't mind...

Laundry Room Saving Ideas

Laundry room appliances can help save a bundle of energy dollars in your home. Good habits in the laundry department can save $300 dollars off annual utility bills. One of the largest costs is hot water which can be kept down with today's newer appliances.

Washing Machine

Energy Star states that 90% of a machines operating cost go to replenishing the hot water in ones tank. By washing fewer loads and doing those in cooler water, you could save around $200 a year.

1. Cold water is best for saving dollars. Using cold water has been known to save $222. Per year off your electricity bill. Cold washes are just as effective for getting cloths clean as hot water is.

2. Wash only full loads. The department of energy tells us that it cost about $60 per year to run the washer. You will save money since it takes just as much water to run a full load as it does to run a small one.

Dryer

Essentially a dryer could be considered a toaster with a fan. There are ways to lessen the impact on your utility bills by $80 a year.

3. Spin it faster. The clothes dryer is the first step to efficiency to dryer effectiveness. Having the washer speed set at the highest setting will reduce the amount of time spent in the dryer which in return will save money. Many of today's high speed washers can cut dry times by half compared to that of older models. Average dryer can cost only $40. a year to operate compared to the $80 a year.

4. Clean lint filter & exhaust. A dirty filter will only make the dryer work harder and longer to dry. Cleaning the lint and exhaust will allow the dryer to be more effective. Doing these simple chores will not only save money but will cut down on fire hazards as well.

5. Energy saving features. If the dryer has a moisture controlling device, use it. Allowing the cloths to dry by using the times not only uses electricity but can wear out cloths in the long run.

6. Like & like. There is no better waste of money than drying towels with tee shirts. When allowing unlike items together in the dryer you waste electric tumbling in the dryer for items that are already dry. A tee shirt or undergarments take a lot quicker to dry than say a towel.

7. One last way to save would be skip it. It takes about 35 cents to run a dryer load and to hang the item on the back of a door or clothes rack is free minus the cost of the rack. The savings can add up by giving the dryer a break every once in a while. Not to mention saving the life of the cloths.
